CAPD takes steps to plug in pilferage in distribution of K.Oil quota | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 23: To curb the menace of misuse and blackmarketing of State Kerosene Oil, the Department of CA&PD have taken host of steps to plug in the pilferages so as to ensure that it reaches to the legitimate and needy rationees. The SKO is being allocated by the Government of India, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas through its Jammu based Oil companies to the Department for distribution through its networking of retail K.Oil dealers across Jammu Division. However, allocation differs in winter (October to March) and i.e summer (April to September) @ scale of 5 litres per family. Director CAPD G.S Chib when contacted said that steps taken includes , " Within Jammu Municipal Limits, the SKO is being distributed through the mobile oil tankers at notified places published well in advance through print and electronic media for information of general public and roaster schedule is being maintained. Similarly, SKO in other Districts is being released and distributed on the basis of strength of Ration Tickets and all concerned informs in advance through Panchayati Raj Institutions or other convenient mode. The Department is regularly obtaining Utilization Certificates from Sarpanches/Panches of the areas. Besides, the Assistant Directors have been directed to get the Utilization Certificates from Joint Committes of Revenue, CA&PD, Police which over see the distribution of Kerosene Oil. However to redress the public grivences if any on this account, a public grievances redressal cell has been established in the Directorate and a Toll free Helpline No. 1967 (landline users) 0191-2502609 (Mobile users) is working in the Directorate for the convenience of the consumers to registered their complaints". |
