Mendhar, Mar 13: Government Degree College, Mendhar today celebrated International women day.
According to press release, a seminar was also organized on the occasion which was attended by the faculty members and students at large. Prof. Javied Iqbal ( HoD Sociology) presented the Keynote and welcome address in which he highlighted the aims and objectives of the seminar and revealed the history of International Women's Day and its commemoration under various UN themes in different parts of the world. Among the students Nazia Younis and Rubia Qureshi spoke on different themes including Gender based discrimination, Constitutional safeguards for the Women and so on.
Dr. Firdous Nazir (HoD Arabic) also expressed his views on the occasion and reflected the status of Women across the Globe. Principal GDC Mendhar Prof. Shabir Hussain Shah presided over the function.
He further highlighted the issues and challenges faced by women and their role in building a happy and peace- oriented society. Prof. Ayaz Choudhary , Prof, Javied Manzoor , Prof. Mohd. Akram, Prof. Shabnum , Prof Alyas Ahmed, Prof. Mohd Qasim , Prof Mohd Yousif, Prof Aziz Ahmed, Prof Zafar Iqbal also graced the occasion. |
