The self styled leaders of Jammu who lost their voice when it came to dignity of a lady doctor
3/14/2015 12:42:03 AM
Hypocrisy of the eloquent and Media savvy former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who has used twitter to ventilate his feelings on every other issue including those related to women, has been woefully exposed. Omar suddenly got dumb and lost his hash tag as he did not issue a single statement or a tweet to denounce the unwarranted act of Health Minister Lal Singh. Many opine that had singh been a PDP Minister, Omar would not have lost his eloquence.
Ashok Gupta, the controversial president of the state unit of Shiv Sena and Dogra Front who organizes photo opportunities for his projection on issues ranging from price rise to the statements of the Prime Minister, using handful of his supporters from Rani Talab area, had nothing to say on the issue of woman's honour.
Sunil Dimple, the self styled president of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) who blocks busy Janipur road at the drop of a hat and issues exaggerated statements on issues like water scarcity, power failures and traffic woes, lost his vociferous voice when it came to the dignity of a woman who dared to take on the foul mouthed Minister.
Bajrang Dal and VishWA Hindu Parishad leaders, who often draw their words and knives to scare away young girls on valentine day, swearing to defend the honour of the women, too have lost their voice. Their silence over the issue has woefully exposed their double standards on dignity of women.
Subash Shastri, the self styled president of National Mazdoor Conference has never exhibited either vision or the intent to raise his voice beyond the issues of release of DA in favour of pensioners and govt. Employees and regularization of daily wagers. By maintaining a stoic silence on the issue of dignity of a woman professional who chose to stand for it, Shastri has fallen pathetically short of expectations.
Former Minister Raman Bhalla who aspired to project himself as the most eloquent voice of the people of Jammu and often talked of women empowerment, seems to be still mourning his drubbing in the last assembly elections as seldom has he been seen or heard since he lost from Gandhinagar despite using all tricks in the trade to pluck a victory third time. He too turned out to be huge disappointment when it came to the issue of standing by a woman.
Former NC MLA Bimla Luthra who is not tired of projecting herself a s crusader of women's cause has lost in oblivion after her crushing defeat in last Assembly elections. Luthra was all fire when the then BJP MLA Jugal Kishore had a tiff with ex-Minister Sakina Ittoo. She protested all over Jammu city and argued that Jugal Kishore should not be allowed back inside the house since he did not know how to respect woman, but she too lost her voice when it came to protecting the honour of a lady doctor.
