GDS employees' indefinite strike enters fourth day

UDHAMPUR, Mar 13 : The indefinite strike of All India Gramin Dak Sevak Union (AIGDSU) in support of their demands entered fourth day today. The Union members, who remained abstain from their routine works, staged a protest demonstration outside the Head Post Office, Udhampur. Leading the protesters, Yog Raj Sharma Circle Secretary AIGDSU said that the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) employees should be granted all benefits at par with the permanent employees of the department adding that appoint judicial committee to examine the wage structure and service conditions of GDS employees. He said that about 2,76000 GDS employees are facing problems due to anti-employee attitude of Postal Department adding that we are demanding inclusion of GDS employees in Seventh Pay Commission. Among others, Udhampur District President Parsohttam Lal, Bal Krishan, Rakesh Kumar, Khem Raj, Girdhari Lal and Chanchla Devi and several other union members were present on the occasion.
