KATHUA, Mar 13 : In a swift action, a Forest team demolished a pucca structure being raised on a forest land by some land grabbers. Led by Pritam Lal, Range Officer, Jasrota Varinder Singh Slathia, BO Mastgarh and other field functionaries under the direction of Divisional Forest Officer, Kathua Vijay K Verma, SFS dismantled a pucca structure being raised by one Jeema son of Haji Bali of Gurha Pandita Tehsil & District Kathua in compartment 46/J of Bera Beat-II, Mastgarh Block of Jasrota Forest Range. Official sources said that the illegal pucca structure was being constructed inside the demarcated Forest area in Co. 46/J by constructing the concrete the plinth and Brick walls. The Forest team immediately swung into action and dismantled the structure raised and restored the Forest area being grabbed illegally. DFO, Kathua, briefed that similar incident of encroachment took place during last year also over the 38 kanal Forest area in the same compartment 46/J which was thwarted and retrieved from the possession of land grabbers by the Forest Department. The higher authorities of Forest Department has directed to immediate fencing of the area with barbed wire to avoid any such incidents in future. |
