Former NC Minister's medico son reduces Uri into his fiefdom | Employees weary of their unwarranted interference | | S Tahir-Ul Haq
Early Times Report
BARAMULLA, Apr 7: A doctor by profession has assumed the role of a Chief Education Officer (CEO) and made some transfers in the Education Department in this North Kashmir district. The medico is the son of MLA Uri and former NC Minister Mohammad Shafi Uri. Sources told Early Times that Dr. Sajad Shafi is carrying out the transfer orders at the behest of his father and in consultation with the former Chief Education Officer Baramulla. His interference has rotten the system and employees are harassed by his selfish approaches. "Dr Sajad Shafi is a doctor and is posted in the AIDS Section of Civil Secretariat of Jammu and Kashmir. Irony is that he stays in government bungalow of his father in Uri and is harassing the employees of all departments except the employees of Uri constituency," sources said. Sources said that Dr. Sajad who is the son-in-law of former finance minister Abdul Rahim Rather has become the de-facto CEO of Baramulla while not attending to his own duties. "Dr Sajad has left no stone unturned to make transfers of most of the employees in nexus with former CEO Baramulla, whom he considers that they belong or support directly or indirectly to other political parties like People Democratic Party, Bharatiya Janta Party and Congress, while as there is nothing like that," said a group of employees. The employees alleged that Dr. Sajad has made their lives hell and he interferes in the overall functioning of the education and other departments as well in the district. The employees said that the influence enjoyed by the medico shows that he doesn't want the people of other constituencies to perform their duties in Uri tehsil who had been appointed there. "Government should order an enquiry against Dr. Sajad who has no role in interfering in the public matters and political affairs of the state. Let him do his own business as he has been cheating the health department from past many years where he was supposed to perform his duties without any legacy," said the employees. Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Shah has issued an order which states, "there are reports that Ex Chief Education Officer Baramulla has affected transfers in Education Department Baramulla after his transfer, clandestinely in connivance with some officials of the CEO office, vide order no DCB/PS/14113-18 Dated 26-03-2015." At the same time then Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Reyaz Ahmad Wani has attached four officials of CEO Baramulla, Deputy Chief Education officer, District Planning officer, Section officer and Junior Assistant ZEO office Baramulla, vide order no: ADCB/Reader/2014/561-66 dated 26-03-2015. |
