Sr police officer misleads his department | Property Row | | Early Times Report Jammu, April 7: A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) has allegedly hoodwinked his department by not disclosing the exact value of the property owned by him at the city outskirts. High placed sources told Early Times that weighing the information as submitted by their own senior official as 'authentic' and genuine the police department gave due nod to official to purchase the said plot without going into the details despite the Revenue department already having fixed the price for the property in the said locality. According to sources the Police Official presently posted as SDPO Jammu purchased a land measuring upto 23 marlas situated at prime location at Ban Talab on city outskirts. "As per his submission to department he purchased the land @ Rs 53 thousands per marla giving an impression the land is worth Rs 13 lakhs only," sources said, adding, "but the things on the ground are completely different i.e. and the price of the land spread is much higher as informed by the police official.' They said the deal was struck at quite higher price but the official allegedly hoodwinked the department in this connection. "While submitting his property statement, the said police official not only hoodwinked his department by not disclosing the exact cost of the land but also showed that he has constructed the house through loan sought against the saving accounts of his wife and his son," sources said. They said many Revenue officials also have raised finger of suspicion over the deal while saying that the land price in the area is around Rs one lakh to two lakhs per marla as the locality is being developed as model suburb residential colony. |
