Two bovine smugglers held, 17 animals rescued | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, June 13: In yet another success Rajouri police under its drive against the bovine smugglers claimed to have rescued 18 bovine animals from the clutches of two bovine smugglers and also have seized the vehicle. According to police spokesperson, "On specific input about bovine smuggling, Narinder Singh Chib, SHO Thanamndi under the supervision of Iftikar Talib, SDPO laid a naka near Police Station at Thannamandi and started checking of vehicles plying on the road. "During searches of vehicles police party intercepted a vehicle carrying bovine animals, police sources said adding, "On questioning the driver couldn't produce the required documents/permission to ferry the animals to Srinagar via Mughal Road." Police also arrested the accused identified namely as Shakoor Ahmed s/o Abdul Rahim r/o Khablan Thanamandi Rajouri and booked him in case FIR No 81/15 u/s 188 RPC and 3 PCA. Similarly Sub Inspector, Jhangir Ahmed in-charge Rajouri Police Post under the supervision of Yashpaul Singh , SHO on the intervening night of June 12/13 intercepted a vehicle at Nagesh Bridge on Rajouri-Poonch road and seized eight bovine animals from the possession of accused indentified namely Gulzar Hussain s/o Mohd Abdullah r/o Khoriwali, Darhal. Police Srinagar via Mughal Road illegal smuggled sources said that he was taking the animals to Srinagar from Rajouri and was also booked in case FIR No. 309/2015 u/s 188 RPC 3 PCA . A senior police officer said that the drive against the bovine smugglers will continue under the supervision of Dr Haseeb Mughal, SSP Rajouri. |
