Irked over transfer of a PDD Xen, Sukhnandan threatens DyCM of tit for tat

Early Times Report
Jammu, June 13: Transfer of an Executive Engineer in Power Development Department has put the Minister for PHE Irrigation and Flood Control, Choudhary Sukhnandan at loggerhead against Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, who is heading the PDD.
According to the sources, the transfer of said Xen so irked Choudhary Sukhnandan that he went to the extent of virtually threatening Dr Nirmal Singh of a tit for tat if the transfer order was not modified. The PHE Minister is learnt to have told the Deputy CM that he would also not oblige the latter in such matter but hit back at appropriate time, sources added.
The influential Xen, who is the bone of contention between the two BJP ministers, was occupying an important post in PDD for the last six years. This Xen is considered to be very close to Congress party and this was the only reason that he was not transferred from this particular post for the last six years.
After the installation of new Government in the State, this Xen was on radar of BJP ministers, particularly Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, who is holding the portfolio of PDD. Only last month, verbal instructions were issued by Dr Nirmal Singh for attachment of this Xen when the power supply was interrupted during the visit of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to a BJP worker's house in an area under this officer's jurisdiction.
However, following the intervention of a Deputy Commissioner and others, no formal order was issued for action against this Xen who was transferred to other place only during reshuffle on Thursday last. Since this officer was already apprehensive of his transfer, he approached PHE Minister Choudhary Sukhnandan and managed an assurance that he would not be shifted.
The shifting of Xen in the list of transferees on Thursday irked the PHE Minister who straightway went to the office chamber of Deputy CM in the Civil Secretariat and virtually warned that he would also hit back by not obliging the latter in affairs of his department, sources disclosed.
The episode has once again brought into fore the tussle among BJP ministers who are busy in puling each other instead of focusing on improvement in the work culture.
