Jammu, June 13: In yet another instance of callousness on part of doctors while performing their duties, a surgeon at Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Charitable Hospital (SWMMCH), Ved Mandir Ambphalla Jammu, ran away leaving patient in operation theatre.
Sources said that Kanta Devi wife of Subash Sharma resident of Barnai Jammu was diagnosed with Gynae issues, following which Dr R C Sharma advised the patient to undergo a surgery.
"The victim arrived at hospital with her family members, and surgery started this morning, but the doctor left the operation midway on the pretext that procedure cannot be completed as the patient has developed complications," sources added.
"There are some compulsions," family members of the patient quoted doctors as having informed the family members.
They alleged that doctor left the Operation Theatre midway and did not provide any further advice to the attendants of patients.
"The patient is in critical condition, we are trying to shit her to Government Medical College and Hospital for advance treatment", said relatives of the victim.
