Sangathan Mantri skips two important occasions to escape workers' wrath …? | All is not well BJP's organizational setup | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 13: BJP's organisational secretary or in political parlance better known as sangathan mantra Ashok Koul who has been lately been facing resentment of workers for certain reasons is learnt to have escaped two important occasions where entire leadership of the party including some stalwarts from centre had converged . The cadres and workers see it as a deliberate move and attribute it to growing resentment against him which could have possibly been conveyed to leaders present at both the functions. Sources within the party said when union minister of the stature of Home Minister Rajnath Singh came to Jammu in connection with NDA government's programme of highlighting achievements on May 27, while entire leadership of the party had converged , organizational secretary made himself conspicuous by being the sole leader to remain absent. He chose to be in Leh where he flew just two days ahead of Rajnath's arrival which saw biggest event in form of well attended rally in Jammu and which was well publicized days before the event, sources said. A week later, on June 7 when BJP leader and minister in Mufti Sayeed led government Sunil Sharma's wedding reception saw a similar hugely attended party leaders' gathering, Ashok Koul skipped this function again, despite knowing well it was to be attended by party leaders from outside, said the sources adding that he chose to be in Srinagar on that occasion. Sources said workers see as deliberate move by the leader who is actually expected to be a bridge between the state unit, central leadership besides RSS, an organisation he comes from. Instead he chose to stay away for a reason, said the sources adding that it is the growing annoyance and anger of BJP cadres against the state leadership of which he forms a vital part besides the state president after formation of PDP-BJP government in the state. The resentment is more for the reason that workers increasingly find themselves ignored and pushed to wall at the hands of their own ministers and even MLAs, something which was reported to organisational leaders many times but remained unheeded, said the sources. One more reason for resentment is that most of the ministers have deputed novices as their personal staff who refuse to acknowledge the issues brought up by the workers and even fail to recognize the senior leaders. Both state president and the organisational secretary who are finding themselves in the centre of ire and annoyance know it well that workers have started shooting complaints to central leaders and those in charge of the state unit who made it two occasions. In order to avoid any kind of embarrassment and possible wrath of the workers, latter chose to stay away.
