Early Times Report
Jammu, June 13: Recent reshuffles in the Revenue Department and adjustment of a particular community officials on various positions in and around Jammu have raised alarm bell in Sangh Parivar, which is contemplating to take up the issue with ruling coalition partner BJP.
According to the sources in Sangh Parivar, the RSS has taken a very serious notice of recent transfers and postings of Tehsildar as well as Naib Tehsildar level in the Revenue Department and adjustment of officers of a majority community on important positions in Jammu.
The situation can be gauged from the fact that after the recent reshuffles, more than eighty percent Territorial Tehsildars in Jammu belong to the majority community. For example, in Tehsils Digiana and Bahu under Gandhi Nagar constituency, being represented by the senior BJP leader all officers, right from SDM to Naib Tehsildar, are of the same community. Similarly in Tehsil Jammu North, both Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar are of majority community.
Even as no BJP leader has so far raised the issue within the party for taking it up further with the Government, sources said that the Sangh Parivar has taken suo moto cognizance of the same. The issue was discussed during some recent meetings of the RSS with particular reference to Jammu and mum of BJP leaders over the matter, sources claimed.
The RSS is also apprehensive that the posting of the Revenue officers of a particular community in and around Jammu is a well planned strategy of a section in the top administration to check the Forest Minister Bali Bhagat's move of getting forest land evicted from the encroachers, mostly of the majority community.
Sources said that the RSS is likely to issue verbal instructions to the BJP ministers to remain cautious on posting of officers in their respective Departments and constituencies by taking a firm stand in this regard.
