Nexus between hospital admn, suppliers exposed | Expired medicines seized, panelized for keeping overdated stock | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 13: A nexus between administration of sub district hospital Banihal and suppliers of medicine exposed, during a visit in the hospital on Saturday, when expired medicines found in the store of the hospital. Expired medicines were seized and fined Rs 25000 to the officials with warning. As per information, a team led by Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings departments, Mission Director NHM Dr Yashpal Sharma and Director Health Service Jammu Dr. Baljeet Pathania paid a visit Sub District Hospital Banihal and District Hospital, Ramban on Saturday. While inspecting hospital, they were found expired medicine in the store room of the hospital and seized all expiry medicines which including ampiciline, Cefexime, Disposable syringes, Insulins worth lakhs. Administration of the hospital were pulled up by the Minister and said the nexus between medical shops and the hospital authority cannot be ruled out in the health institutes. Minister fined Rs 5000 to Medical Assistant posted at dispensary and Rs 20000 to store keeper of SDH Banihal. Later, the team also inspected District Hospital Ramban and Batote hospital. |
