Kargil villages to get electricity within next 10 days : Haji Anayat | | | Early Times Report
Kargil, June 10 : From the last many days Far-flung villages of Kargil, like Sankoo, Barsoo, Tai Suru, Panikhar Lankarchey are without electricity as there is HSD for DG Sets and due to which people are facing lots of problem and are agitating against the authority. People of these villages today met Chairman Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali While on his personal visit to Panikhar and informed the Chairman that these villages are without electricity from the last six months despite of completion of the receiving Sub Station at Sankoo for these regions. The villagers demanded for electricity from Chutuk Hydel Project as there is a great problem of HSD in the District. Later on reaching Kargil Haji Anayat Ali immediately called a meeting of officer of PDD and NHPC in which Exen. PDD Somnath and Imtiyaz Ahmad Manager Mechanical NHPC attended. During the meeting Chairman Haji Anayat Ali sought the present status of work on the Sankoo Receiving Station and directed the officers to make the receiving substation functional without any further delay and ensure the power supply to the villages from Trespone, to Panikhar within 10 days, and there after shift the equipment to Khangral in order to complete the process of filtration etc at Khangral Receiving Sub Station as well as to supply electricity to villages from Khangral to Kukstay Dargo within next 15 days. He directed the Officers of PDD and NHPC to work in coordination in order to avoid any kind of delay and inconvenience to the people. The Officers assured the Chairman that they will ensure the supply of electricity from Chutuk Hydel Project to Trespone, Sankoo, Barsoo and Panikhar areas within the stipulated time as well as from Khangral to Kukstay Dargo as directed by the Chairman. The officers were also directed to submit action taken report to the Chairman immediately after the Job is done. Haji Anayat Ali also assured that HSD required for DG Sets of Far flung areas of Kargil will also be made available before the holy month of Ramadan. |
