| Several teachers found absent from LHS Dashnan, CEO Doda assures action | | ---- ZEO Ghat 'attaches' teachers in violation of government order ---- | | Asif Iqbal Naik

KISHTWAR, June 14: In a brazen violation of rules and regulations, Zonal Education Officer Ghat has allegedly ordered for the attachment of teachers in ZEO office or in nearby schools contrary to directions of Education Minister.
Sources informed Early Times that Zonal Education Officer Ghat has disobeyed and bypassed all the government orders regarding ban on attachments of teaching personnel in offices, beside order for immediate detachment of all attached teachers/Masters if any. But keeping all the norms at bay; ZEO Ghat Shayista Tabassum has attached several teachers in nearby schools as a result of which schools in far flung areas have virtually turned defunct.
The ZEO has also allegedly made illegal attachment of four teachers from different schools with her for carrying out different works.
Sources said that a teacher namely Ghulam Abbas who is posted in LHS Dashnan has been illegally attached by ZEO in her office without giving any official assignment to him and the matter comes to public notice when on last Saturday (June 13) when students of LHS Dashnan sat on protest inside the school premises and made a direct call to Deputy Commissioner Doda about the absence of teachers. The sources informed that DC Doda without wasting anytime directed Chief Education officer Doda for inspection of the school.
On the directions of DC Doda, CEO Doda Ajeet Kumar Sharma deputed an inspection team to visit and inspect the school. The inspection team accordingly submitted a report to Chief Education Officer Doda in which it has been written that only four out of nine teachers were found present in school, while one teacher is on deputation for doing B Ed from government college of Education Jammu while two teachers had put in six days casual leave application and same without any sanction from any competent authority. Another teacher Ghulam Abbas was found attached with ZEO Ghat on verbal orders and remaining teachers were found totally absent from last three days.
During the inspection, out of 122 students enrolled in LHS Dashnan, 104 students found present by the visiting team. The sources said that teacher Akhter Hussain posted in UPS Dudoot and Sanjay Kumar teacher posted in P S Shiva has also been illegally attached by ZEO Ghat in her office. ZEO Ghat has also attached dozens of regularized ReT teachers from far flung areas to nearby Schools of Ghat zone like Primary school Malikpura , P S Nalwa and Ghat.
Talking to Early Times Chief Education Officer Doda Ajeet Kumar Sharma confirmed that a team of officials has visited LHS Dashnan and assured action against absentee teachers after verifying the report submitted by the team that conducted the visit of the school. He said that as far as attachments of teachers by ZEO Ghat is concerned the issue is being looked into, adding that in case the claims will be found genuine action will be initiated against the guilty officials.
Meanwhile the local people demanded intervention of Director School Education Jammu as well as that of Deputy Commissioner Doda and demanded strict action against the absentee teachers who are playing with the future of poor students, besides also demanded immediate detachment of all attached teachers without any further delay. |
