UDHAMPUR, June 14 : A deputation today met Chief Minster Jammu and Kashmir Mufti Mohamed Sayeed for creation of separate division of the districts including Udhampur, Reasi, Ramban, Doda and entire Chenab Valley. Ajaz Sumberiya, Political Activist, demanded creation of separate division of the districts including Udhampur, Reasi, Ramban, Doda and entire Chenab Valley create separate division of aforesaid districts at Udhampur regardless of Jammu division for saving the identity of the entire region.
"We are facing discrimination of the authorities of Jammu Division in the complete scenario of development viz. Road networks in deplorable condition in this hilly region, Hospitals in pitiable conditions, Cultural activities in extinction state, Higher Education sector is in institutional crisis, Instead of tourist potential entire region is neglected by the concerned authorities by their vested interests," they added.
During the previous regime's of J&K, Udhampur was shrinked from top level district (in terms of area, tourist destination, religious, historical & cultural heritage) to just a administrative unit. Due to this discrimination, the local unemployed youth of this area face a lot of problem to earn his livelihood & they are forced to migrate to Jammu & adjoining areas. |
