JYF criticizes PDP-BJP Govt. for introducing 2 years B. Ed course | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 14: Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) today criticized BJP-PDP Coalition Government for hammering discrimination with Jammu region in every sphere. According to press release, Forum president Mohd Akram Ahmed demanded the two years B.Ed, M.Ed course should not be introduced in Jammu University till the same programme is implemented in Kashmir universities of the state. He appealed the Chancellor and Pro Chancellor of Jammu University and the Minister for Higher Education Nayeem Akhtar and MoS Education Priya Sethi to immediately look into the matter and stop discrimination with Jammu people. Mohd Akram Ahmed questioned the university decision saying it was beyond comprehension that how two sister universities of the state with the same department of higher education were adopting two different approaches regarding B.Ed, Med course in the state. "The Government is triggering the system towards chaos by changing the B Ed, Med programme in Jammu University to two years but keeping the same course in Kashmir University unchanged and for one year," he said. "Besides two different durations of BEd course, there will be two different yardsticks for the percentage of marks also for seeking admission to BEd course, ie 45 per cent for the University of Kashmir and 50 per cent in Jammu University. This is another discriminatory treatment and in both the cases, the sufferers will be youth of the Jammu region," he said. Rahil Malik, Tarvej Ahmed, Palvi Verma, and Amit Sharma were also present during conference. |
