Srinagar, June 14: Strong winds followed by heavy rain disrupted normal life in the summer capital, Srinagar and other adjoining areas this afternoon, snapping electricity and dish television services in many areas. This is for the second day today that the city was lashed by heavy rain and strong winds this afternoon. After pleasant weather since this morning, many people visited different tourist places, including Mughal Garden on the bank of world famous Dal Lake because of last Sunday before the start of holy Month of Ramzan. Weather turned cloudy followed by strong winds and heavy rain this afternoon. People in Mughal Garden and other tourist places took shelter under different sheds and shops because of heavy rain. Traffic and pedestrian movement in the city routes was affected as many areas were inundated due to rain water for about an hour. Hundreds of vendors, who had put up their stall at famous Sunday market in the city, were also affected due to rain. Electric supply was also snapped at several places and dish TV service was also badly affected. |
