6 students held for stealing examination material

Rajouri, June 14: On the complaint lodged by a examination superintendent, Rajouri police have booked 6 students of government higher secondary school ,at Khawas in Budhal tehsil for stealing question papers, answer sheets and other material after entering a examination hall.
Reliable sources in education department said that 6 students who entered the examination hall on Saturday and disappeared after snatching some question papers and answer sheets, were denied permission for appearing in private examination of 12th class by Board of School Education (BOSE).
On Saturday six students namely Ajay s/o Angrez Singh , Narinder Singh, Rahul, Deep Singh, Mohd Rafiq and Surjeet Singh entered the examination hall at government higher secondary school and had some arguments with the examination superintendent Zameel Ahmed Malik and other staff member alleging that they had applied to appear in the examination but had not received their roll numbers.
Sources added, superintendent told them to approach the BOSE authorities and leave the examination hall.
This irritated the students and in rage they snatched 24 question papers of Mathematics, 1 sealed packet of Sociology question papers,2 answer sheets along with one continuation sheet and 2 sets of pen from the staff and disappeared from the site after threatening of dire consequences.
Later after the examination was over , superintendent along with other staff members namely Mushtaq Ahmed , Master Kashmir Singh and Mushtaq Ahmed -IV class employee approached the police at Khawas Police Post and lodged a complaint against these student.
"Yes examination superintendent has approached the police against the students and police have registered a case against the accused students in case FIR NO 43/2015 under sections 147/382 RPC. All the students have gone missing and police has been searching them," said Kuldeep Kumar ,SHO, Budhal.
When contacted AH Fani , Chief Education Officer said that Superintendent has approached him today and briefed about the incident. He also refused to join his duty at this examination centre ( 12 th class Private examination of Summer Zone) as the accused students and others have threatened the examination staff.
"The matter was taken up with the Secretary examination (BOSE). Dr Haseeb Mughal, SSP Rajouri was also contacted in this matter and he has assured to provide adqequate security to the examination staff till the examinations are over" said AH Fani, CEO.
He further added that after the assurances from SSP, the examination staff has agreed to perform their duties.
Sources added that BOSE authorities are likely to cancel the Mathematics and sociology papers.
