FORCE opposes two years B.Ed course by JU | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 14: The decision which was taken by the officers of Jammu University at the helm of affairs to implement Justice Verma Report regarding introduction of two year B. Ed programme in Jammu Province, members of Forum of Recognized Colleges of Education (FORCE) today opposed. According to press release, forum president Harbans Singh urged upon the government for the relaxation of the scheme at least for one year on the pattern of Kashmir province. Meanwhile B.Ed degree be made mandatory for the appointment of teachers in teaching profession as is prevalent in other states of our country. "If the recommendations of JVR are relaxed in Kashmir then why they are being made rigid in Jammu by adopting 2 year scheme of introducing B.Ed Programme in Jammu Province", he said. Doing so will be detrimental for Jammuites who will lost one year upon their counterparts in Kashmir Division. To wait for one year is a great concern for the students belonging to same state with two differential attitudes adopted by the Government. Ironically the scheme has been introduced but the website of Jammu University is still blank regarding detailed syllabi which otherwise should have been posted much earlier. Let the eyes be kept open and ears audible to understand huge investments in terms of infrastructure ---buildings, labs, libraries developed by the unaided colleges of education to provide professional education to the youth of within and outside the state. Force with all honour to JVR urges the Government and Vice- Chancellor University of Jammu to uphold the uniform status of the state by introducing one year B.Ed programme at least for the ensuing session (2015-16), so that double standards are not being adopted in the same state benefitting one region over the other. They urged upon the Government to take a serious view and declare one year B.Ed on Uniform level throughout the state during 2015-16 and simultaneously declare B.Ed mandatory for teaching profession to pave the way for the implementation of new scheme. Kuldeep Wahi , Gambhir Singh Charak, Manmeet Singh, Ashok Kumar Khajuria, Hari Singh Chib, M.S.Katoch, T.M. Tariq , S.K.Puri and Arun Kumar were also attend the conference. |
