JAMMU, July 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association has elected Sub Maj Romesh Sargotra as new chairman of the association. A meetin was organized general body meeting at Jhiri wherein a large number of Batwal community members participated and they authorised Ramesh Kumar Kaith to continue as Election Commissioner. According to press release, besides, the meeting discussed the problems being faced by the educated youthwho told the Association members that despite being educated they are hankering for job which is being denied to them by the recruiting agencies. They said without job they cannot come out of poverty and lead a dignified life. They appealed the Union Government that Batwal community be granted an 'Employment Package' based on the survey report of its ethnographic study undertaken in 1994 by the Planning Commission of India. It said that only the employment to community youth can enhance their economic position and bring them prosperity in their life. They also urged State Minister in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh to look into its series of memorandums submitted to the Prime Minister NarendraModi in the past one year and get the same referred to the concerned departments for taking necessary action in the matters.
