RSS on killing of BSF jawan, says India killed five Pak soldiers a day before
Recommending ‘constructive engagement’ with Pak

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jul 11: It is not to suggest that the RSS and its parivar, including the BJP, are planning to accommodate the Pakistani viewpoint on Jammu & Kashmir. But, at the same time, what an RSS expert and ideologue Rakesh Sinha said in the wake of talks between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistan counterpart Mian Nawaz Sharif at Ufa in Russia, does create serious doubts in the minds of the Indians about the intentions of the RSS as far as its stands on Pakistan and Kashmir are concerned. Rakesh Sinha has been speaking for the BJP and defending its actions and policies for many months now, thus creating an impression that the approach of the RSS and the BJP to the issues of national and international import is the same.
Rakesh Sinha made two very controversial statements. He advocated "constructive engagement with Pakistan" and asserted that it was necessary for restoring peace in the region. There is no such thing as constructive engagement in diplomacy. Diplomacy means efforts on the part of a nation to defend its geo-political and economic interests and, if possible, promote the same at the cost of another nation. Foreign policy of any nation always means promotion of its own interests. There should be no doubt about it. A critic of the Rakesh Sinha's ridiculous formulation, Kanchan Gupta, who is also considered supporter of the RSS and its parivar, was absolutely right when he tore into Sinha and said constructive engagement has no place in foreign policy-related matters. Engagement is, and should, always be coercive, he told Sinha on his face. In a way, Gupta asked Sinha to revise his formulation and vouch for aggressive diplomacy. Sinha went on the defensive. In fact, he didn't counter Gupta, a very senior and leading commentator.
Sinha not only invited ire from Gupta and others for his constructive- engagement-with-Pakistan remark, but also provoked many others, particularly Atul Anjan of the CPI, when the RSS ideologue virtually defended the brutal murder of a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan on July 9 in a sniping incident by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowgam sector in Kupwara district, Kashmir. Constable Krishan Kumar Dubey (belt No: 13312690) of BSF 119 was killed. He was cremated on Friday in his native village at a time when Narendra Modi was shaking hand with the Pakistani butcher at Ufa.
Taking on those who opposed talks between the Indian and Pakistani Prime Ministers on the ground that Pakistan killed our BSF jawan, Sinha said that a day before the "Indian Army had killed five Pakistani soldiers, a development which the Indian media didn't cover". As expected, his unwarranted comment evoked a very sharp response from Atul Anjan. Ridiculing Sinha, Anjan said that while the Indian media did not cover what Sinha claimed, the Pakistani dreaded Inter-Service Intelligence had been keeping the RSS informed about what the Indian Army was doing to the Pakistani soldiers. "Are you (Sinha) speaking for Pakistan"?, Anjan asked him.
The fact of the matter is that Sinha was attacked by Gupta and Anjan exposed Sinha and his intellectual bankruptcy. But this is not the issue. The issue is what Sinha said. And what Sinha said must be a cause of concern for the nation in general and patriotic sections of society in J&K
