Early Times Report

Jammu, July 11: A day after participating in the Iftaar party at New Delhi organized by Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on July 13, J&K state Congress core group led by PCC chief GA Mir will hold what is being seen as crucial meeting with him in which he would be briefed about everything that matters to party in the present scenario of J&K. J&K leaders are the only group to hold separate meeting with Rahul Gandhi whereas all other state units' leaders will have joint interaction with the Vice president .
Sources said J&K PCC chief who was conveyed about this meeting post Iftaar party on July 13, has already started an exercise to get inputs from the senior leaders of the party and functionaries who matter at the organizational level on the basis of which the group would present a perspective and deliberate with Rahul Gandhi during the meeting. Mir was in Jammu during the last couple of days and has left for Kashmir where he would meet some senior leaders about what viewpoint they hold on vital political matters both within and outside the party, sources said.
Though Mir has met Rahul a couple of times after his elevation as PCC chief, this is first meeting of the state group in which all other leaders would jointly discuss with him what is crucial to Congress with respect to present political situation in the state, vis-à-vis functioning of PDP-BJP government, perception of public with regard to its CMP and all other commitments which earned mandate of power for both the parties. However, equally important will be the inputs the group would present with respect to organisation structure in the state and the stance seen as inimical to interests of the party adopted by few leaders in recent past. Apart from Mir, CLP leader Rigzin Jora, AICC Secretaray and in charge J&K affairs Moi-unul-Haq and General Secretary Ambika Soni are the members of the state team who would update Rahul Gandhi about J&K, sources added.
