JAMMU, July 11: The Dharna of contractors under the aegis of Contractors' Association of Estates Division, Jammu, entered into 63rd day, on Saturday .
For last two months, contractors under the leadership of CAED president, Sanjay Soi, are sitting on Dharna demanding early disbursement of their due bills pending with Estates Division Jammu as well as Treasury Officer, New Plot, Jammu.
Addressing the protesting contractors, Sanjay Soi said that the government has failed to concede our demands for release of the payments of the work done carried-out by the contractors of the Jammu and no attention is paying by the government to settle down the issue pertaining to the release of the payments for the financial years 2015-15.
"Even though our representatives have been called on by the Authorities in a meeting which conveyed by the Director Estates Department, J&K, at Srinagar who assured us for the sympathetic consideration of the demands but of no avail till date," he alleged.
He appealed to the government and the concerned higher authorities to immediately release the funds for clearance of their pending bills, which are running in crores.
Among others sitting on the dharna were Rajinder Kumar, K.D Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Parveer Sharma, Prem Singh, Daljit Singh and Bhupeshwar Singh. |
