Farmers protest over erratic 'power supply' 7/12/2015 12:08:44 AM Vijaypur Jul 11: Farmers and locals from Ramgarh and its surrounding area have organized a protest at Ramgarh against the Power Development Department (PDD) demanding replacing of damaged transformer of their locality. The protestors alleged that some days ago the transformer of 6-KVA Receiving Station Ramgarh got some technical snag and the department till date has not taken any step to replace the transformer. The farmers alleged that the season of paddy crops sowing is on and due to prolonged power curtailments farming community is facing more problems. The farmers alleged that for the last 2-3 years the kharief crop in this region has been affected folwloing the lack of irrigation due to erratic power supply in the region and Pump sets went non functional. Protesting farmers warned the department and the administration as well to replace the transformer within four days failing so the they would block the National Highway SDM Vijaypur, SDPO Vijaypur and Ex-MLA Surjit Singh rushed to the spot pacified the protesters by assuring them their demands shall be redressed soon.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
