Rajendra reviews traffic arrangements for Eid festivals | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, July 11: In order to review traffic arrangements for the ensuing festivals in the next week, a meeting of police officers was held at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today. Director General of Police while chairing, the meeting discussed the arrangements put in place by the traffic police for ensuring smooth traffic regulation in the valley. Rajendra, addressing the meeting said that in view of the major festivals falling in the next week including Shab-i-Qadr, Jumat-ul Vida and Idul Fitr there would be huge movement of traffic in the cities, towns and other parts of the valley. It is imperative to formulate a mechanism and ensure smooth traffic regulation on these festivals so that people could perform their religious and other festive activities without any inconvenience, said Rajendra. Rajendra asked to chalk out a deployment plan for congregational places where huge religious gatherings are held on these occasions. He said that route plans should be formulated and publicised for information of general public. Parking slots should also be identified to ensure hassle free festive activities. |
