Market checking intensified in Srinagar, Rs. 31,700 realized as fine

SRINAGAR, July 11: The Enforcement squad headed by Assistant Director, Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Kashmir conducted market inspections in the Srinagar city and booked erring traders for violating Essential Commodities Act, 1955. The markets of Firdous Abad, Chanapora, Methan, Bypass, Bagi Mahtab, Mochu, Kralapora, Batmaloo, Bagat, Qamarwari, Bemina etc. were inspected during the process. During the inspection, 113 business establishments were inspected and Rs.31, 700/- were recovered as fine from 33 erring shopkeepers for violation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
