Red Cross organizes training programme on Disaster Management | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, July 11: Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu & Kashmir State Branch today organized a one day training programme on Disaster Management & First Aid at Kashmir University, Srinagar. The event witnessed a participation of more than 200 students who were imparted with practical trainings on first aid and disaster management during emergencies. The orientation programme was organized as part of the emergency preparedness programme of Red Cross. While presenting the welcome address Dr. M Hussain, Faculty Member, Law Department welcomed the expert team and Roma Wani, Honorary General Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, J&K. The gathering was addressed by Roma Wani, who emphasized the need of conducting such trainings on a more frequent basis. She further complimented the students of the Law Department of the University who worked as volunteers with Red Cross during the relief operations of September 2014 floods. She also highlighted the role played by First Medical Responders during various emergency situations in the State. She appealed the youth to give time and energy in the service of humanity as well. She stressed upon the need for the student community to come of the routine class room activity and get an experience of life while working for others. |
