Jammu Reds XI lifts JKP Exhibition T20 Match for Girls

JAMMU, July 14: Jammu Reds XI trounced Jammu Blues XI by 14 runs in a thrilling contest and won the "JKP Exhibition T20 Match for Girls" at Science College Ground, here today.
The tournament was organized jointly by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department and Simula Club, under the supervision of Danesh Rana IGP Jammu and Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer & Former Ranji Player is the Organizing Secretary of the tournament.
Danesh Rana, IGP Jammu was the chief guest in the valedictory function, while SK Chouhan SP City Jammu was the Guest of Honour and SDPO Sandeep was the Special Guest on the occasion . The chief guest and the other dignitaries distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams. Others present on the occasion were Vinay Gupta Chairman VCC, Ashesh Sharma MD Shastri Club,Rajesh Dhar,RP Singh, Sanjay Sharma,Veena Sharma Women Cricket Coach, Anju Sharma and Meenu Sharma Sr.Cricketer.
In his address, IGP Jammu lavished praise for the organizing team for conducting Exhibition match for girls Cricketers of the Jammu with the objective to provide platform for them to hone their skills and exhibit their talent. He also assured the girls cricketers that Police department shall conduct more cricket events for the girls cricketers in the forthcoming session .
He also advised the Girls to do regular cricket practice and be prepared for the national matches and performed well there and bring laurels for their parents and for state.
Earlier, in the summit clash, Jammu Reds XI won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 93 runs for the loss of all wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Sapna top scored with 21 runs , while Nadia and Sanjana contributed 17 & 13 runs to the total. Heena and Naina took 2 wickets each S while Sarla , Isha and Chitra took one wickets each for Jammu Blue XI.
In reply, Jammu Blues XI could not chased the target and were all out for 79 runs in 20 overs. Sarla Skipper of the team scored 16 runs, Tanisha 10 runs and Heena Kousar made 9 runs to the total thus lost the match by 14 runs. For Jammu Reds XI, Jyoti took 3 wickets, Pushpa took 2 wickets while nadiya and Sapna shared one wicket for their team. Sapna was adjudged woman of the match for her alround performance. The Match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain , Suhail and Sandeep while the proceedings of the function were conducted Rajesh Dhar and RP Singh. The matches of the league were officiated by Suhail Yusuf, Sandeep Manchanda and Vinod, whereas the proceedings of the Valediction Function were conducted by Rajesh Dhar and R.P. Singh.
