Early Times Report
Kishtwar, July 14: Reacting to a report published in Tuesday edition of Early Times, the Karnataka-based Sai Institute of Allied Sciences said it does not have any franchise/study center in J&K or any other part of India. "We do not have any relation to Apex Paramedical institute Doda & Asraria Paramedical & Research Institute Kishtwar, J&K. Neither we have issued any affiliation/authorization to these institutes nor we have issued any certificates" reads an email sent by the Sai Institute to Early Times. "It has also came to our notice that some agencies/ persons in J&K are involved in issuing fake/ scanned certificates to the innocent candidates and defaming the name of Sai institute of Allied Sciences, Channapatna, Karnataka," it said. The clarification issued by the Sai Institute vindicates the Early Times report highlighting illegal business of sale of diplomas/certificates by the Apex Paramedical Institute Doda & Asraria Paramedical & Research Institute Kishtwar. The two so-called institutes have duped scores of students who were provided fake diploma/certificates. The Sai Institute management also said that J&K's Health & Medical Education Department has recognized it vide order No. 654 HME of 2012, dated. 19.10. 2012, on the recommendation of the committee constituted vide order No. 211 HME of 2012, dated 14.03.2012 for a period of two years and the same shall be considered for renewal on the recommendation of the then J&K State Medical Faculty. Though the same was not renewed in 2013 after the J&K State Medical Faculty was reconstituted and named as J&K Paramedical Council which gives recommendations for grant of No objection Certificates to all paramedical institutes inside and outside the state. "Accordingly, after formation of the J&K State Paramedical Council, the Sai Institute approached J&K State Paramedical Council for grant of renewal/extension of recognition order which is still awaited even after J&K State Paramedical Council has conducted the inspection of the institute," the email from the institute added. The Sai Institute also denied that their institution has ever been blacklisted, and said it had already stopped new admissions till renewal of permission. The Sai Institute made no mention about its office and institute address in J&K and also did not mention whether the team constituted by the J&K government visited Karnataka for inspection of the institute or the institute. It also did not mention whether the institute allows study center-based diploma/certificate courses as many aspirants holding certificates/diplomas of Sai Institute had never visited Karnataka. It is pertinent to mention here that in response to the letter of Secretary Service Selection Board Jammu regarding recognition status of various paramedical institutes providing degrees to students from the institutes situated outside the state, Dr. Waseem Qureshi Register J&K State Paramedical Council, Government Medical College Srinagar vide letter No. SPMC/GMC/SGR/1035-36 dated 31-01-2015 has clearly mentioned that the government has not authorized or recognized/registered any paramedical institute outside the state yet. It vindicated the news report carried by Early Times in its May 28, 2015 edition and other successive editions, which highlighted the plight of several hundred students who were duped by two paramedical institutes-Apex Paramedical Institute in Doda and Asrariya Paramedical and Research Institute Kishtwar by providing them certificates/diplomas of institutes including that of the Sai Institute. |
