Akshay Azad ET Report Jammu, July 14: The Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) preliminary examination is likely to get delayed further as the officials nominated by government are yet to take oath and hold first meeting. Moreover the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) is yet to finalize the arrangements with regards to examination centers for the conduct of examination. Sources in JKPSC informed Early Times that though the names forwarded by government, had got the approval of Governor NN Vohra for appointment, but so far no notification in this regard has been issued by government. Sources further said that after the notification, the Chairman of Commission and the members would also take oath and would decided to hold the first meeting, in which the date for conducting the preliminary exam would be finalized. Secretary of JKPSC, Shakeel-Ul_Rehman said that nearly 12,000 students would appear in Jammu division while nearly 85,00 in Kashmir valley. "We are getting details from the schools and colleges for making sitting arraignments. There will be no clash between the exams of UPSC or any other entrance examination. After getting all details, date will be finalized and the proposal will be placed in the meeting of Commission", he said. He further said that probably in the first meeting of Commission, the date for preliminary exams would be announced. Pertinently, according to notification issued on January 8, 2014, PSC/Exam/KAS (Pre)/2014 issued by JKPSC, it had been announced that the preliminary Examination which was postponed earlier shall now be held on March 1, 2015 (Sunday) but on February 21, another notification was issued, postponing the examination, till further orders. |
