Agencies in a quandary on PM's visit | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 14: Ahead of the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Jammu to attend the centenary celebrations of veteran congress leader Girdhari Lal Dogra, the state government agencies are in quandary as no one really knows who is calling the shots from behind the scene. To ensure the smooth visit of the prime minister, the government agencies are required to get their acts together but in the absence of concrete information and protocol, even the senior most state functionaries are not exactly aware of what is happening as regards the finalisation of arrangements. Starting from the guest list, organising logistics, media management and other arrangements are not being coordinated by the state government agencies. Due to paucity of information, even the media persons are waiting for the formal invitations. At the same time several TV channels, eagerly waiting to cover the PM's visit, have not been given the final word if they would be allowed to park their OB vans and given access inside the university auditorium. According to official sources, even the senior state government officers have not been extended formal invitation as per the standard protocol. Reliable sources claimed that even the guest list had been finalised in New Delhi and the special invitees had been extended invitation at a private level. |
