Residents of Jawhar Nagar meet DC Rajouri, highlight problems | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, July 14: A deputation of local residents of Jawhar Nagar called on Deputy Commissioner Rajouri and appraised her about the problems being face by the local resident in absence of a drainage system. Local residents living including Chander Parkash Sharma, Mohinder Lal Sharma, PK Sharma, Ashwani Kumar and others were part of the deputation which called Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Deepti Uppal in her office and appraised her that due to free flow of rain water from hill top of Jawhar Nagar, at the time of rainfall, water flows in full speed towards their locality and in absence of a proper drainage system, people are suffering badly and water is entering inside houses damaging property. Locals of the area also urged Deputy Commissioner Rajouri to sanction a project for the construction of a deep central drain in the area and to hand over the project either to PWD or to R&B adding that project should not be handed over to Municipal Committee Rajouri as the said department has earlier constructed a half street outside ARTO office Jawhar Nagar and rest portion has been left and due to such weak execution of work, people have lost their faith on the Municipal Commiitee. Meanwhile after giving a patient hearing to the locals, Deputy Commissioner assured that the problem being face by the locals of the area is well in the notice of administration and steps are being taken to find some permanent solution of the problem. |
