Police nabs Interstate cheat who lures people by offering discounts 7/15/2015 12:09:39 AM Early Times Report Jammu, July 14: Police today claimed to have arrested one accused hailing from Tanjoure Tamil Nadu who used to lure innocent people by offering heavy discounts on household gadgets and was evading his arrest since last year. Police have identified accused namely as Arahgulavan s/o Krishna of 108-06 / NA Kadaiveethi district Thanjour of Tamil Nadu. Police said that the arrest was made by SI Kali Charan, Inspr Jatinder Raina SHO PS Poonch, Mujeeb-Ur-Rehman-DySP Hqrs under the overall supervision of S Jatinder Singh Johar-SSP Poonch. Police spokesperson said that Arahgulavan alongwith his other associates opened a showroom near SK bridge Poonch in the name and style "Welcome Home Needs" and lured several innocent people of the district of their hard earned money worth lakhs by promising to provide them house hold articles like furniture, electronic items, utensils, white goods etc on heavy discounts. "The unique modus oprennddi was adopted by the accused to lure more people as they delivered some articles to some of the locals to win the confidence of people and as to the expectation of fraudsters a large number of people deposited advances to get their choicest articles, police said, adding "and after sometimes collecting huge money the fraudsters escaped from Poonch leaving people high and dry." Following bunch of complaints, the Poonch Police registered a case FIR No. 96/2014 U/S 420 RPC at PS Poonch on 28/07/2014 for cheating / duping people of the district of lakhs of their hard earned money against the accused who were absconding till date. Police spokesperson said, "Keeping in view the public importance of the case, SSP Poonch J S Johar constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to nab the gang of fraudster and after strenuous efforts made by the team headed by DySP Hqrs Poonch, SI Kali Charan of PS Poonch succeeded in apprehending the master mind of the gang from Tamilnadu."
