Jammu, 14 July 2015 Department of Agriculture, Zone Bhalwal today conducted intensive touring of circles Ranjan and Jandyal to supervise the farmers fields who have grown maize crop. According to press release, during the interaction with the farmers the Agriculture officers told the farmers that sowing of maize in lines instead of traditional methods not only increase the maize yield but also protect the crops from lodging due to rains and windstorm. They suggested that the farmers to use optimum dose of fertilizers and plant protection techniques to protect the crop of insect pest and diseases. The interaction programme was organized on the directions of Director Agriculture Dr S S Jamwal, SDAO Marh K KGupta and AEO Bhalwal B K Koul. The agriculture officers who interacted with farmers includes Amrik Singh ,JAEO, Mohinder Kour, JAEO, Jaswinder Singh, VAEA, Anil Gupta , VAEA and Arvind Bali REZ. |
