Jammu, July 14: The agitation for the demand of changing the criteria for admission in 3rd semester in Under Graduate courses continued and now the stir of agitation was observed in Government College for Women (GCW) Parade also. The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) today held a strong protest demonstration outside GCW Parade wherein a large number of students led by State General Secretary NSUI, Avijot Singh along with the active coordination of District President NSUI Jammu Sunny Parihar, raised slogans against the Vice Chancellor, Jammu University. They lamented the Vice Chancellor and claimed that he is trying to introduce such a poor system in education which will not only demoralize the students but also waste a precious year of their life. Singh demanded that the criteria should be as such as in case of engineering courses are. He claimed that without consulting with the stakeholders, the core aim of framing such criteria has put additional mental stress on the students having backlogs. Students from GCW Parade while speaking on the occasion said that introduction of such criteria is totally opposed by the students through continued protests and hitting of streets by the students will continue till the criteria for admission in 3rd semester gets fully revoked. NSUI threatened that if further more the demands of the students were neglected, the Vice Chancellor of JU will be held responsible for any act of aggression. |
