Rajinder scripts Singh Club win | Chevrolet Cricket Cup | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 14 : Brilliant four wickets haul from Rajinder today helped Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor make it a fine 26 runs win against Prince Cricket Club in a group-D match of the ongoing Chevrolet Cricket Cup tournament at KC Public School ground, here. Rajinder's four wickets virtually stalled Prince Club's run for a chase in this crucial league round match. Earlier, Singh Club, after winning the toss and batting first, set a target of 143 runs for eight wickets. JB Singh and Dilabag played superb innings to emerge as main contributors to the total with 37 and 25 runs in their respective accounts. From Prince Club, Ashish bowled well to take away three wickets while Jagdeep claimed four wickets. In reply, Prince Club bowled out for 116 runs in 17.1 overs and the credit goes to Rajinder, who clinched four important wickets. However, Prince played brilliant knock for the team completing his half century but lack of confidence shown by the talenders caused team's debacle. Besides Prince, Vishal also batted well to add 27 runs. Rajesh was other wicket taker from Singh Club. For his superb bowling, Rajinder was declared man of the match. Today's league tie officiated Sadiq Hussain Malik and Honey Chib Singh as umpires while Bunty Kumar was scorer. |
