SAMBA, Aug 8 : Priya Sharma of Government Higher Secondary School Nud emerged fastest runner when she took away the 100 meters gold in the annual inter-school under-19 girls' athletics meet, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Sports Stadium, here today.
Second place in the sprint went to Anuradha of Government Higher Secondary School, Rajpura while Anju Bala of GHSS Samba remained third.
Principal, GHSS Boys Samba, Narinder Singh was chief guest, who presented medals to the winning girl athletes in various field and track events decided in this day-long competition held under the supervision of district officer, Samba, Subash Chander Bhardwaj.
Prominent among others present were Zonal Physical Education Officers, Rakesh Verma, B D Sharma, Raghubir Singh and Pardeep Singh.
The competition officiated by the technical penal Bhupinder Singh, Romesh Chander Misra, Prem Nath Sharma, Meenakshi, Dildar Singh, Kulbir Singh, Zorawar Singh Sambyal, Purab Chander, Navjyoti Slathia, Sudesh Sharma, Keshav Singh, Sanjay Gupta, Ruhil Sambyal, Sushma Rani, Asha Devi, Vijay Kumar, Naresh Sharma, Bhavna Koul, Suman Sharma, Deep Kumar, Sumant Singh and Havinder Singh under the guidance of Anirudh Singh Slathia and Rekha Sambyal.
