Tara Danpuri's poetry collection 'Hirakhae Di Peed' released | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 8: A collection of Dogri poems titled as ' Hirakhae Di Peed' (pangs of love ) authored by Tara Danpuri was released at a simple function organized by Dogri Sanstha at Dogri Bhavan, Karan Nagar here today. Sahitya Akademi awardee Shailender Singh presided over the function attended by a large number of writers, poets intellectuals and prominent members of civil society. Published by the writer himself, the released book ''Hirakhae Di Peed' incorporating 67 poems, is the first collection of poetry of Danpuri who is an acclaimed fiction writer with two novels and three short story collections in Dogri to his credit. Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Vijay Sambyal Rangeelay Thakur, Station Director, Radio Kashmir Jammu said that literature reflects our culture, traditions and invaluable heritage besides enriching our lives. He also appreciated the efforts of the writer to promote Dogri language. In his welcome address, Chhatrapal, president of Dogri Sanstha congratulated the writer for bringing out his first collection of poems. A brief critical review on the book was presented by Dr Chanchal Bhasin. "Poetry of Danpuri is emotive and sensitive to the social dilemma," she added. During the proceedings Tara Danpuri also recited some poems from his book which were much admired by the audience.
