KATHUA, Aug 8: National Lok Adalat (NLA) was held here today at the District Court Complex Kathua and settled 76 cases and ordered payment of Rs 7201892 award money to the claimants.
The NLA held under the Chairmanship of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Kathua Puneet Gupta (Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kathua) comprised of two benches.
Bench no 1 presided over by District and Session Judge, Kathua Puneet Gupta, and assisted by Additional District and Session Judge, Kathua S.C Katal took up bank cases. The Bench no 2, which heard civil cases, was presided over by Chief Judicial Magistrate Kathua Deepak Sethi and assisted by Special Mobile Magistrate, Kathua Naushad Ahmed. A total of 76 cases were settled during the National Lok Adalat.
As many as 72 Bank cases were decided on the spot and award money to the tune of Rs 7201892/- was ordered to be paid to the claimants. The bench no 2 settled 4 cases of 138 NI Act, Civil cases. |
