GDC Kathua students allege 95% syllabus still uncovered | | | Early Times Report
kathua, Aug 18: UGC recommended Semester system in University of Jammu but colleges affiliated with JU fail to provide infrastructure, the students of Govt Degree College (GDC) Kathua alleged that though the exams are at hand yet 95% of syllabus for different streams is left uncovered. In this regard a deputation of students today called on Principal Degree College Kathua Dr Banwari Lal Gupta and projected number of problems being faced by students who are unsure about their forthcoming examination and said 95% is untaught due to shortage of Faculty. Ajay Singh Punia, a student, said the problem rises due to shortage of staff and expressed his concern over untaught syllabus and said 95% syllabus of Semester First is still to be covered which will affect their results. Students demanded extra classes and apposite faculty before examination and appealed university to postpone their examination that would commence by September. When contacted to Dr Banwari Lal Gupta, Principal GDC Kathua, expressed concern over shortage of faculty and appraised that Nodal Officer made appointment orders of adhoc employees but few elements approached to High Court and Nodal Officer had to cease such order as the matter is with the High Court. He ensured that University would extend examination dates and faculty will be provided soon. |
