Autocratic minister leaves patients in lurch

JAMMU, Aug 18: Agony, under autocracy of Health Minister to get their routine check-up, the patients is forced to get permission from Principal GMCH and Medical Superintendent Super Specialty Hospital.
Well-placed sources informed Early Times, disappointed over non-restoration of Gastroenterology department at Super Specialty Hospital Jammu patients are forced to hold protest on daily basis. "Department of Gastroenterology had been closed by since long, now patients have to hold protest to get their routine check-up", sources said, adding that yesterday office of Principal GMCH Jammu issued order to conduct medical checkup of the patients in special OPD of Gastroenterology on August 17.
"Despite, Principal's order, Medical Superintendent SSH, did not allowed the same till 2pm on Monday", sources alleged, adding that after 2pmspecial started in which 46 patients were examined.
"On Tuesday, the patients have to adopt same strategy for their treatment, patients gathered in hospital premises on morning, but remained un-attended by 1pm", sources said, and added' "continuing its yesterday's order, the incharge-Principle GMCH Dr Zahid Gillani directed Medical Superintendent, making happy his boss, the MS did not comply with the order.
"In continuation to this office letter no GMC/PS/Misc/623 dated 17-08-2015, Dr Shoket Choudhary HOD Department of Gastroenterology, SSH Jammu is directed to examine the patients in special OPD till further order", order issued by incharge-Principal read.
Resentment is brewing among the people, if things remain un-changed, daily protest for their check-up could take aggressive turn, said one of the patient, after his check-up this afternoon. "It is every shameful, to hoodwink people, an order issued for special OPD was issued following, OPD held in office of Medical Superintendent Office. If medical check-up can be conducted, in any room with required equipments, why thousands of crores are being spent setting-up hospitals", he questioned.
Sources further said that compromising their professional duties the Principal GMCH and Medical Superintendent have surrendered before their autocratic boss. "Unfortunately, to please their boss officers at helm of affairs at both health institutions and their boss too disregarding right guaranteed by the constitution", sources maintained, arguing that certainly it comes under right to life under constitution of India, same being violated by none other than, who are supposed law implementing agencies.
Though state government, especially Health and Medical Education Department had disregarded court's order to save its skin.
