| Contemplating to 'expose' real face of party in Bihar ahead of polls…? | | BJP leadership has anti SC mindset, feels community | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 18: At a time when ruling BJP is confronting loads of criticism on a host of issues in Jammu, it is faced with resentment from a sizable SC community which feels betrayed by the party for certain reasons. As many social organisations of the community in Jammu are contemplating a move for which BJP may have to pay heavy cost in states like Bihar and UP where caste politics fetches votes.
Sources said SC communities and as many as 13 organisations which are active in Jammu are planning to approach their counterparts, no matter in different names and banner in a vast state like Bihar ahead of Assembly elections for a purpose- to expose what they feel as real face of BJP. These organisations have been nourishing a grouse that BJP leadership both at the state and central level have anti SC mind set that reflects in many of their decisions and acts from time to time, sources said adding that the grumble has deepened more after the party formed government in J&K. The party has been using the community only for votes and has no concern nor does it give anything due to the community politically, is the mood of many organizations at the social level. They are gearing up to translate this mood into some action ahead of Assembly elections in Bihar where SC community votes are vital for the BJP.
Sources said gradual resentful mood is attributed to what they feel is clear from factual position of the Community on the ground as far as key positions are concerned. While the heart burn has been growing lately on account no key position and adjustment against various posts given to any community leader, the reality also remains that within the organisation right from length and breadth of the office bearers not a single post is occupied by SC leader, sources further said. The whispers are gaining ground that entire leadership at the top level which takes all important decisions has an anti SC mindset and deliberately keeps the SC community leaders side lined despite the fact there are many in senior positions and far more than eligible on political parameters.By denying the SC leaders due positions within the hierarchy of state unit, the party is violating its own constitutional norms by avoiding this obligation.
These leaders, sources said have been misleading the central leadership with an argument that there are already 7 MLAs which is flawed, said the sources. The MLAs have won against the seats which are reserved political constituencies and the party leadership has not done anything out of the way for SC community , said the sources. However, many decisions have gone against the wishes of various SC communities which feel BJP has only been exploiting them for its own political benefits and sheds crocodile tears on a large political platform. However, things can get reversed if what is being contemplated by the SC community takes a practical shape as the swing of elections in states like Bihar and UP is entirely caste based. |
