Jambal students forced to walk 7 km to reach school | | | Arun Trisal Early Times Report Kathua, Aug.18: Residents of village Jambal situated Maglore East Panchayat today demanded road connectivity at earliest as it is affecting adversely on the academic of the students of area who are forced to walk atleast seven Kms on routine affair. Sub Major (Retd) Balwan Singh alleged that PWD has ignored their plight and local authorities never have taken up their demands with concerned higher authorities. He said construction work on road was undertaken some five years ago but was abandoned without any reason. Singh said villagers approached to concern authority and projected their demand but nobody showed any interest. Ajay Singh, another villager said students walk several miles to reach school that affect their study too. He said people including patients have to cross ravines to reach on the main road even many people have fell victim to bad road connectivity in past years but authorities are yet in slumber. The villagers demanded black topping on road and small scarpers on ravines. They also threatened to hold protest demonstration if government ignores their demands. |
