Students stage protest, demand relaxation in admission fee | | | Early Times Report
kathua, Aug 18: Students of Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua today staged protest demonstration and blocked college road for half an hour in support of their demand of relaxation in admission fee. Protesting students alleged that college management is demanding extra fee even no notification has been issued by Jammu University so far. Tamana Rajput, a Girl protester, said JU allowed students with two subject failure, to get admission in second semester but when students approached to college, administration demanded extra fee without any concrete reason or purpose. She said students who got admission after reevaluation never pay late fee for admission but they are unable to reason why administration demand extra fee. Suresh Kumar, another student, said GDC Kathua demands Rs 1980 in addition with admission fee which is unfair as JU still to notify for the last date of admission. Dr Banwari Lal Gupta, Principal GDC Kathua said JU allowed students with two subjects reappear to get admission in second semester wherein students have to deposit Registration fees in addition to admission fee that must be deposited within 7 days. When admission committee asked students to deposit RR fees they got agitated and went on protest which is not unwarranted, he said . |
