ABVP stages protest for inclusion of Urdu in NT Exam | | | Early Times Report
udhampur, Aug 18: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Udhampur today staged a protest demonstration condemning the Government decision of including Urdu as a compulsory descriptive examination paper for the post of Naib Tehsildar. Led by Distt President ABVP Aman Sharma and City Secretary Arjun khajuria the AVBP activists assembled near Dak Bungalow on highway and blocked ever busy Jammu Srinagar highway to register their protest. Speakers criticized the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) decision of including Urdu as a compulsory descriptive paper, bearing 30 marks, in the syllabus of exam notified recently. They added that the inclusion of Urdu as a compulsory descriptive paper would impact the final selection list of Naib Tehsildars as many job aspirants do not have knowledge of Urdu as per the SSB syllabus and that, too, in the descriptive mode. They said alleged the initiative of JKSSB seems to be a conscious effort to give an undue benefit to particular candidates and discriminate with others. Later a delegation of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidharthi Parishad (ABVP) submitted memorandum to Tehsildar Udhampur who rushed the spot to pacify the situation. The delegation through its memorandum demanded that SSRB should be asked to withdraw this unfair and discriminatory decision within seven days otherwise they will again take to roads |
