Where is notification for AIIMS in Jammu?: Congress to BJP
8/19/2015 12:01:01 AM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 18: Congress has questioned the BJP leadership for the failure of the central government to issue appropriate notification for separate AIIMS in Jammu till date, as required under the AIIMS Act.
Reacting to the repeated claims by the BJP leadership that the demand of the people of Jammu has been accepted following wide spread protests and struggle, Congress today asked why the necessary notification has not yet been issued in this regard, so far, which is mandatory.
In a statement Chief Spokesman JKPCC Ravinder Sharma said, "It is unfortunate that Prime Minister Narinder Modi could announce a package of over Rs 1.25 Lakh crore to Bihar in addition to a second AIIMS to that state, keeping an eye on the Assembly elections there but a simple notification could not be issued for AIIMS in Jammu, where the electorate gave BJP twenty five MLAs besides two Lok Sabha members."
"The people of Jammu region, who have been protesting for over three months and observed repeated bandhs etc could have heaved a sigh of relief, if necessary notification had seen light of the day by now, he said..
Congress leader also said that people of Jammu region can't be be-fooled again by mere statements and big hoardings and would not rest, untill the proper notification is issued in this regard, as per law. He also warned the BJP leadership against playing with the rights and sentiments of people and cautioned the people about the ploys being used by the frustrated BJP leadership to divert their attention and hoodwink the people.
