Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 18: In a PIL, highlighting alleged hushing up of Chatta-Sunjwan land scam in which the government had earlier appointed Sudhanshu Pandey, then Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, to identify the officials responsible for transfer of any land in favour of SRK Associates in contravention of rules and to identify the officials responsible for mutation of 20 kanals and 12 marlas of state land under khasra No 1442 at Chatta- Sunjwan in favour of SRK Associates' partner Ram Kumar, a high court division bench of Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal granted a week's time to GAD (general administration department) to file action taken report (ATR) in terms of the May 12, 2015 division bench direction based on the Pandey's inquiry report. The bench issued the directive after after hearing the counsels of the two sides. The government had issued order No 1083-GAD of October 20, 2014, appointing Pandey as an inquiry officer. The bench granted one week's time to GAD to file the ATR pursuant to the directions already issued by the court on May 12, 2015. The bench, looking into the importance of the matter, directed Registry to list the PIL for further consideration on August 26 next. (JNF) |
