ADC Kishtwar flags off first batch of Hajj Pilgrims | Despite collecting huge money, Hajj Committee fails to make proper arrangements | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report Kishtwar, Aug 18: Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Hanief Malik along with Senior Congress leader and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, MLC Firdous Tak, SP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas flag off first batch of 43 Hajj pilgrims left for Srinagar from Islamia Faridiya Educational & Research Institute Kishtwar. Even though Hajj Committee Jammu and Kashmir charges huge amount for the Hajj pilgrimage, like every year the committee failed to make good arrangements for them including food which was managed by the local volunteer group Muslim Welfare Society Kishtwar with the help of Assistant Tourist Officer Kishtwar Muddasir Kichloo who was deputed in advance by the administration to help in making the arrangements for Hajjis at Kokarnag, Anantnag with Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, but unfortunately Hajj Committee did not give intimation to DC Anantnag for making any arrangement of food for Kishtwar Hajj pilgrimage and neither provided any money to them for making such arrangement forcing the Muslim Welfare Society Kishtwar to make the arrangements for Hajjis out of their own pocket. Floriculture Officer Anantnag Zaheer Kamal and CEO Kokarnag Development Authority Sajjad Kamar also extended their helping hand to Muslim Welfare Society out of his own will for this noble cause. Though district administration assigned few officers on the duty to look into the arrangements and coordination with Anantnag administration, but at the end of the day these officers also became burden on local volunteers of Kishtwar who made arrangements out of own pocket and helped only by Assistant Tourist Officer Kishtwar. Meanwhile the family members who accompanied Hajjis also rued the poor arrangements at Hajj House Bemina, adding that every year the government promises better facilities for Hajj pilgrims and termed it a mere slogan having no reality on ground. They urged upon Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Minister for Hajj and Auqaaf Abdul Rehman Veeri to look into the issue so that other hajj pilgrims arriving at Hajj House Srinagar did not suffer. |
