SRINAGAR, Aug 18: Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today expressed deep sorrow over the demise of President Pranab Mukherjee's wife Suvra Mukherjee.
The First Lady, who had been ailing for some time, passed away this morning at the Army Research and Referral Hospital in the national capital.
"I convey my condolences to the President over the sad demise of his life's companion and pray that Almighty gives him courage to bear the irreparable loss," he said.
Paying rich tributes, the Chief Minister described Suvra as a creative artist, writer and painter, who lived a very active life and contributed immensely towards promotion of art and literature.
The Chief Minister conveyed his solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. |
